True That: Lilias Trotter

“The effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust forever.” – Isaiah 32:17

Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of flesh and of spirit, making holiness perfect in the fear of God.” – 2 Corinthians 7:1

Moreover, we had human parents to discipline us, and we respected them. Should we not be even more willing to be subject to the Father of spirits and live?  For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share his holiness. Pursue peace with everyone and the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.” – Hebrews 12:9-10, 14

  1. Powerful verses and quotes, Tim! True that,~ all of that!

The noiseless, …quiet and peace …his Holy habitation in us and the effects of righteousness!

I’ve contemplated my Christ life continuously after this sizzling summer of situations.

It’s no wonder many miss the point of the New Covenant and true Christ life in our Western walk of existence ~ go, go, go, … I want to be, be, be fully engulfed by the Holy Spirit. It takes a lot of discipline and we have a mighty Savior, and Christ-following friends, to cheer us on!

If being a Christian only meant getting rid of the stained choices, I would be wasting the whole purpose of the cross!

And the New Covenant. Tim, you’re a true gem and so is Rascal! May God continue blessing you and speaking through you on this beautiful blog!

    1. Thanks again for commenting, Karla. The more I have “stilled and quieted my soul” before our God (Psalm 131:2), the more I long for the silence in which He speaks into our spirits.

No one wants to talk much about the holiness without which no one will see our God. I guess it is just easier to assume we must always sin. Yet Jesus, Paul, John, and the writer to the Hebrews could not stop talking about it.

Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of flesh and of spirit, making holiness perfect in the fear of God.”

“God bless us, everyone!” – Tiny Tim…

…who for the record is not this Tim. But the blessing is for you, Finley, and everyone!

      1. You’re welcome, dear friend! I feel the same as you on the longing for the silence…it’s when I feel His presence and Spirit in and through me.

I remember Eldridge sharing that the love of God seeks to make us whole AND holy. How can I become whole without becoming holy? That cooperation with the spirit and the complete surrender. I can’t achieve holiness if I’m not whole in Him. Ephesians 1:4

God will heal our inner parts so we don’t have to chase wholeness by following rigid rules, doctrines, ….we can’t “better” ourselves to holiness. As you always share from Christ , it’s a complete surrender of us….the death of my wants, plans, needs…

It’s so relieving to be restored! Praise God!

Tiny Finley (who got a bath and was not happy!) and I wish you both an amazing night of …silence and sleep! God bless you huge!
